  • Kauai Smoothies & Juice – Kalalea Juice Hale

Take a quick smoothie stop on Kauai at the Kalalea Juice Hale!

This cute juice and smoothie shop is located right off the main Highway,  Kuhio Road, in Anahola. If you’re driving North, from Kapaa Town you will see an orange hut on the left side of the road. Pull in and park and walk up!

They have a delicious menu full of fruit smoothies, coffee, juice shots, acai bowls, and more. TRY one of their amazing acas bowls. No joke, it IS the best acai bowl I have ever had. I got on topped with granola, papaya, coconut meat, almond butter, and bee pollen. YUM so good, I went back again for another.

This is the perfect juice and smoothie stop for a mid afternoon snack or morning breakfast. They have picnic tables and a nice area to sit and enjoy your smoothies too. The staff is super friendly, and always willing to recommend their favorites and customize drinks for you.

The Kalalea Juice Hale is opened 8am – 5pm. Be mindful though, since it is Hawaii, the may close randomly or shut down early. I drove up one afternoon around 345pm and they decided to close the doors early that day.

  • Best Food with an Ocean View in Kapa’a Kauai – Sam’s Restaurant

Sam’s Oceanview restauarnt has the best ocean view in Kapa’a. It’s an ocean view bar and restaurant that also has great food, tasty dessert, and even live music.

You won’t find a better local restaurant with such a great ocean view!

This restaurant is a steal and great find. I do recommend making a reservation and asking for an ocean/window seat. Sam’s has a great view of the ocean and open breezy ambiance. They have special drinks on happy hour… I won’t lie, in saying their happy hour from 4-6pm is very limited. However, their sangria is quite tasty.

Sam’s has a wide variety of food options and MANY gluten free options. Their entrees are a bit pricey ($25-$35 range), however everything looks tasty and delicious. I recommend the ahi nachos appetizer. The curry fish dish also looked delicious.

Whether you want a local cool vibe to hang out at, or a tasty meal, I recommend Sam’s in Kauai!

It’s a great find, with classy decorations and kind service.

Don’t miss out on their EPIC dessert menu. Try the gluten free no bake chocolate cake with local hawaiian coffee ice cream. It’s perfectly tasty, not too sweet, and can soothe your chocolate cravings. Plus, you get a great ocean view while eating.

Kali highly recommends a trip to Sam’s restaurant in Kauai! They have live music often at 6pm. If you’re staying in Kapa’a or near by, DO check out the restaurant and have an appetizer, try some food, or show up for desert. It’s a great ambiance to enjoy the hawaiian kauai vibes!

    Kali Bliss Recommends:

    • Their very vanilla bean homemade ice cream is THE BEST.
    • I LOVE their mudpie flavor.
    • Do taste the mint cookies n’ cream
    • They have the best vegan chocolate I’ve ever tasted
    • Their peanut butter cup is also quite divine
    • If you like sweet and spicy, try the cayenne sea salt carmel, it’s different and very carmelly with a flair

I love Jo Jo’s creamery because it is in the only ice cream shop in America where I have been able to get a homemade gluten free waffle cone.

As an ice cream lover, and because I’m still a child at heart, I love going to Jo Jo’s to treat myself, enjoy fine high quality delicious ice cream, and never feel guilty indulging because of the good ingredients. Personally, I always get the cone, with as many flavors as I can 😉

Jo Jo’s ice cream was started by a mother and daughter who were both lawyers. They wanted to do something else with their life, and started this classy Encinitas ice cream shop!

Let me tell you, it’s the best ice cream in San Diego, and North County!
